Met Pet Printed Packaging
What Is MET PET?
Metalized Polyethylene Terephthalate, or MET/PET as you may have heard it called, is an outstanding packaging choice for many different products. Pouches and bags made from Polyethylene Terephthalate, or PET film, are durable, heat resistant, and do an excellent job of protecting contents from oxygen exposure.
When you take PET barrier film and add a layer of aluminum powder (making it MET PET), it increases the oxygen-water barrier and also blocks UV rays.
Using aluminum powder has some advantages over aluminum foil. Metalized PET provides a higher tensile strength and has a higher gloss level which comes in handy for special printing effects. It also costs less to produce than aluminum foil packaging, as it uses 99% less aluminum and straight up aluminum foil.
What Does That Mean For My Products?
When MET PET films are used, it takes your packaging to the next level. Metalized films are essential for flexible packaging whenever your product needs extra protection to increase the shelf life of your product.
Metalized PET also gives you the opportunity to combine that low-cost superior barrier protection strength with eye-catching artwork that will make your products fly off the shelf.
PET MET laminated films are perfect for a variety of products such as:
- Snacks & Chips
- Cookies & Candy
- Dried Goods
- Spices, Salt & Sugar
- Flour
- Pet Food
- Bird Seed
- Cannabis
- Hops
- Pastes
- Cereals
- Powdered Milk
- Protein Powder
- Yogurt
- Coffee & Tea
- Cosmetics
- Wet Wipes
- Gift Bags
For tomatoes and other acidic, alkaline or salty foods, Metalized PET films are especially preferred over aluminum foil pouches as exposure of these types of materials can cause a potentially harmful emission of aluminum into the food product.
Examples of MET PET Packaging
